A spring in my step

I had one of those rare moments today, as I bounced down George Street, where you ooze unfathomable happiness. I can’t quite put my finger on it but I certainly must have looked a bit scary, directing my full beam smile at unsuspecting passers by. I was in town for brief interview (what is it with the tv stuff lately? … more on that next week but watch this space for details.)

Anyway, I think it was just because it was one of those days when everything went right. Hair, tick. Traffic, tick. Parking right next door to destination, tick. Time spare to whizz up the road and persuade nice lady in Mecca to cover up pesky spot, tick.

Maybe the stars were aligned, or maybe it’s because I’ve just realised that I’m hopping on a plane tonight and heading for Paris. Yep, that’s me, sipping French wines and smearing crusty baguettes with rillettes du porc topped off with a cheeky cornichon. A couple of weeks of downtime to catch up with family and hang out with the kids. Yay!

I’ve even discovered some new favourite iphone apps, Smart Maps – Paris to help us navigate the hustle bustle that is the Parisian streetscape. Metro Paris for the mighty excursions across town, and for a little market action… The keys to the fleas. Great advice on where to find what, tips on how best to negotiate plus fabulous suggestions as to how you send it all home. All available on i-tunes.

I’ll be needing those loose fitting summery dresses from Firefly (all neatly packed in my suitcase) because is there anything better than real French food? I can get terribly overexcited just thinking about it. Have a look at the fab summer collection and start feeling excited about the approaching aussie summer.

The bags are packed, and all that’s left to do is dot those i’s and cross those t’s with the 1/1 Oompah Loompahs who will be keeping the wheels turning back in Sydney. I’ll be writing whilst away but for now… à bientôt!
